Start with and export of Volunteer Data. Use first name, last name and a unique identifier like username/email address, or date of birth plus phone number. Export this data from the Volunteer grid and keep the header columns (using Samaritan column names).

Go to the Opportunity Tab and create the desired Opportunity selecting the appropriate Organization.

Go to the Opportunity Tab and put on the grid:

Opportunity Title
-
Opportunity ID

Organization Title
-
Organization ID

Select the Opportunity you wish to Refer or Place your volunteers with.**

Export these columns with the chosen Opportunity and copy and paste the columns into your spreadsheet alongside the Volunteer information. Populate the entire columns so that all your volunteers will be added to the opportunity and organization.

Go to the Import Tool and run a Opportunity Placement or Opportunity Referral Import
