Mobile Options on the Sign-In Station

Mobile options for Sign-In Stations are designed to set parameters for the distance around the Sign-In Station to ensure that Volunteers are logging in and out within range of their service.

Volunteers are restricted to be within 100 meters (328 feet) of the latitude and longitude setting as defined in the Sign-In Station Mobile Options tab:

When the checkbox is selected, set the parameters for the Sign-In Station based on the:

The Location Longitude/Latitude is automatically generated when the address is populated in the Opportunity profile. The fields available to put on a grid.

Once the coordinates are entered, you can verify the accuracy by selecting "Show Map".

*You can find coordinates to just about anything by searching on Google Maps and clicking on the Long/Lat values.

Troubleshooting 

If a volunteer is outside of the 100-meter range, or if the opportunity/organization address is not populated, they will receive the following on their device:

When a volunteer uses the Sign-In Station, they may be asked to allow access to their location. They must click Allow:

If a volunteer does not allow this, they will receive the following on their device:

Notes about the features: 

Please understand that using this feature may sometimes cause volunteers to experience issues logging in or out of the Sign-In Station. This can be due to factors like GPS signal interference, not sharing location data, Wi-Fi not being enabled, etc. 

This feature is only for Mobile Devices such as cell-phones, tablets, etc., and will not work properly with desktop computers. If you are using a combination of Mobile Devices and a Stand-alone device, it is best to create a separate Sign-In Station without enabling Mobile Options.
