Note: This requires custom configuration. If you would like this feature, please reach out to your Account Manager.
There may be times when you want to open up an opportunity or a shift, and you want to set a time limit for the volunteer to register. This feature allows you to set that time limit so that when that time expires, the shift or opportuinity is no longer available for that volunteer and is open for another, assuming there is still availability.
How it works:
-
When the OPP value “Placement Reservation Time” is set, a reservation is held for that specified duration. This feature only activates if the value is set—otherwise, it will not run. Typically, this would be used in combination with the sign-up buffer that delays the display of the sign-up button.
-
Once a user begins the sign-up process, they will receive messages indicating they have a limited amount of time (based on the “Placement Reservation Time” value, in minutes) to complete the form. These messages help guide the user through the time-sensitive process.
-
After the form is successfully completed, the reservation is replaced with an actual volunteer record.
The Shift Reservation was requested by clients who have highly competitive volunteers and limited capacity for their programs. The sign up window is very short and many volunteers try to sign up at the same time. This feature allows the sign up to be on a first come, first serve basis. From the moment the Volunteer signs up, they are shown messages for how much time they have left to finish their applications before they lose their place.
After they click sign up:

The blue message tells them how long they have to complete the form.
A counter appears counting down the time.

are down to the last 30 seconds.
If they fail to submit the application, they will receive this message.
