The Friends and Family feature allows a child's or a pet's Volunteer profile to be linked to their parent's Volunteer profile. The feature may be modified for use in Animal Therapy, allowing an animal's profile to be linked to their handler's.
Using the Friends and Family feature, a group "leader" (parent) can add "members" (children and or pets) through their own eRecruiter dashboard. These members have their own profiles, and can record hours independently of the leader, but their profiles are connected to the leader's and managed through the leader's dashboard. For example, in the case of Animal Therapy the Animal Handler "leader" is able to track/log hours for the Service Animal "member" when the service animal is assigned to another animal handler.

Enabling Pet Therapy to Volunteers Profile
From the Volunteers Profile within the "Personal" tab the enablement of Pet Therapy can be found below. Once enabled the Volunteer Leader can add and manage the members found in their eRecruiter Dashboard.
What the Volunteers See From Their Dashboard
From the leader’s dashboard, they can access a link to their Friends and Family or Pet Therapy information. From here they will be able to change their family name, edit or add new children/pets, and view their assignments. When adding a new child/pet, a short application form will be displayed. This can be edited to include username and password, application questions, or UDFs as the client needs. To do so, click the "New Member" button.
Logging Volunteer Hours From The Leaders Dashboard
From the Leaders Dashboard under "View My Hours" or "Log Hours" the Leader has access to various options to add hours. The leader will be able to add hours for themselves, as a group, or log hours for an individual member.
eCoordinator Volunteer Profile View
A link to the leader's account can be configured to display from the child's account enabling the eCoordinator user to quickly identify the member's leader.
Below is an example of the end result of Friends and Family configuration and how the volunteer hours are logged. Notice that the "Leader" and "Members" hours are logged separately under the leader's account profile.
Friends and Family uses the same group resources as group reservation so, you cannot use both Friends and Family and group reservations at the same time.
