Prevent Volunteers from signing up for a shift via the eRecruiter before a specific time period prior to the scheduled start of the shift.
For example, if the buffer is set to one hour, Volunteers will be unable to sign up for a shift within one hour of its start time.
This feature requires configuration of a custom UDF. If you do not see the User Defined Fields option in the tools dropdown, please contact your administrator to ensure you have the appropriate permissions.
Configuring the Shift Buffer & Creating the UDF:
- Type = Dropdown.
- Dropdown choices may be in increments of days, hours, or minutes.
Once the UDF is set up, the Hide Schedule Shift Date / Time Buffer must be configured by Samaritan. If you do not currently have this option available and would like to add it, please contact support@samaritan.com.
Using the Shift Buffer:
- This setting can be applied to an Opportunity in the Opportunity profile.
- Because this setting is a custom configuration, it may be located on a different tab than reflected in the screenshot.
- The time increments available in the dropdown may be custom configured to your organization's needs in the UDF menu. Contact your administrator for additional information.
- When the option is selected and a Volunteer views the shift within the selected buffer time period, the message "This shift is no longer available" will appear in the place of the shift sign up button.
