Managing UDFs

UDFs are organized into Record Types and Groups.

Due to the versatility of UDFs and their ability to be used in various ways, it is important to note that certain functionalities may be dependent on specific UDFs. As a result, it is highly recommended to avoid modifying or deleting existing UDFs without thorough testing. If you require assistance, please reach out to Samaritan support for further guidance.

The User Defined Fields (UDF) module is accessed via the Tools dropdown. 

UDFs are organized into Record Types and Groups.

  1. Record Type.
    1. Toggle this dropdown to determine which Type of Groups (and their respective UDFs) will be displayed below.
  2. UDF Group:
    1. Groups are specific per Record Type, and each Record Type containing UDFs will have at least one Group. In the example screenshot, Groups of the "Volunteers" Record Type are currently being displayed.
    2. Group names are determined by your organization.
    3. An organization may have as many Groups as desired.
    4. A Group may contain as many UDFs as desired. Groups may also be empty.

    1. This window will display only UDFs in the selected Group (2), for the selected Record (1). In the example screenshot, the UDF Group "Minor Questions" is selected. "Parental Email Address", "Parental Email Sent", and "Parental Consent Given" are the three UDFs organized into the "Minor Questions" Group.
